SOMPost October: Class profiles, multiple networking events, and interview prep sessions

Greetings!

Fall recruiting season is fully upon us here at Yale SOM. Students are sharing their excitement about the full-time offers they are receiving. Those seeking summer internships are fully engaged in getting to know various organizations and opportunities. Employers enthusiastically are holding their own recruiting events and participating in the various career networking events we host. Below I share a recap of these events and an overview of recruiting opportunities to come. As always, reach out to your Employer Partnerships Manager or  som.recruiting@yale.edu with any questions or comments.

WHAT'S HAPPENED

Meet the new Yale SOM students

Class profiles of the following degrees were released recently, highlighting the academic strength, diverse pre-SOM experiences, and global nature of the programs.

Eight networking events in just two weeks!

EngageSOM-Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: such a hit, we’re ready for another this month!

Nine employers joined us September 24 for our inaugural EngageSOM-Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. During the event, employers showcased why they value DEI and their efforts to advance these values within their organization. Students had a chance to learn from a variety of voices and the opportunity to connect directly with employers to learn more. The eagerly anticipated second EngageSOM-DEI will be held during Affinity Week at Yale SOM, on Friday, October 29. Check out event details in 12Twenty and register today – the first event closed to employers with a waitlist, so act fast!

HireSOM-Asset Management

Thirteen employers and nearly 90 Yale SOM students across degree programs made real life recruiting connections during this virtual networking event focused on the asset management space.

Healthcare Consulting Networking Event

Thirteen organizations and 140 Yale graduate students mingled at virtual recruiting booths, sharing information and building the interpersonal connections necessary for successful recruiting.

Investment Banking Internship Recruiting

Nineteen banks connected with Yale SOM first-year MBA students through five multi-employer Investment Banking networking events to jump start the recruiting season.

If your organization has recruiting needs in asset management, healthcare consulting, or investment banking, it is not too late to reach out to som.recruiting@yale.edu. We will develop a customized plan based on your needs and the timing at Yale SOM.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Connect with us for your immediate hire needs

If you have immediate hire needs, please post your opportunities directly in 12Twenty (it’s free, but does require a free employer account). Every year, alumni and current EMBA students seek immediate hire opportunities throughout the year. This year, there also are about 30 current Yale SOM students seeking full-time roles after they graduate this winter – you can review their resumes here and are encouraged to reach out directly to any student of interest.

More EngageSOMs in November

EngageSOMs are themed events that bring together a small group of employers to educate, connect, inspire and recruit Yale SOM students from a variety of degrees and graduation years. Formats may flex given registration numbers, but often kick-off with a panel of employer representatives followed by small group breakout sessions during which employers showcase mission, impact and recruiting opportunities.

EngageSOM-Retail and Consumer Goods | November 5, Noon-1:30pm ET
EngageSOM-Energy | November 12, 10:00- 11:30 am ET
EngageSOM-Healthcare | November 12, Noon- 1:30pm ET

IPrepSOM, October 25-November 19, 2021

IPrepSOM is a series of interview prep sessions hosted by employers that are eager to support the education and training of Yale SOM students. This fall series is timed to sync with the behavior and technical interview training hosted by the CDO. IPrepSOM sessions teach students what to expect in the interview process and how best to prepare for success. Reach out to your Employer Partnerships Manager or som.recruiting@yale.edu if your organization is interested in hosting an IPrepSOM session during one of the few remaining time slots.
