Event: Alumni-Student Golf Tournament
Host: Golf Club
Location: Yale Golf Course
Date: May 2, 2026
What was the event? A golf tournament during Reunion Weekend!
Who showed up? We had eight MBA students and eight alumni play. Everyone was excited about the newly renovated golf course, so it was competitive to get a slot—I think tickets sold out on the student side within 20 minutes or so. I went with my fiancé, Ellie, which was really special.
What happened? It was a friendly competition between alumni and MBA students. I just happened to get paired with an alum I'd had a few coffee chats with when I was recruiting for investment banking. It was fun to spend time with him and his wife, who also happens to be an alum. They actually met through the program, and now they both live in New York. This was my first time playing the Yale Golf Course, but all the alumni were excited to see how much it had changed.
Best moment? Connecting with alumni in a non-professional setting. We talked about everything but work, which was great. The weather wasn’t the best—it was pretty cold—but there was so much camaraderie on the course. Celebrating the wins together was really fun.
Who should go next time? I would encourage people who haven’t played golf before to get into it and work toward playing that tournament next year! It’s a great time to learn—especially now that the course is open.
