SOM students playing Jenga

Event Dispatch: School’s Out!

MBA student Martin Luther Afirim ’26 stumbled upon an end-of-semester celebration at Evans Hall.

In this series, students answer quickfire questions about events across campus.

Event: Spring Semester Finale: Yale Day
Host: Academic Affairs and Student Life
Location: Shen Courtyard
Date: May 5, 2026

What was the event? A celebration for the last day of classes! To be honest, I don’t check CampusGroups that often, and I had no idea about this event. But when I got to school this morning, I saw everything being set up, so I figured something was happening soon.

Who showed up? Lots of SOM students. Most of my friends came. We’re trying to bond in these last days.

What happened? Everyone came together for activities and food! I’ve been playing Jenga with my friends. I’m so terrible at Jenga.

Best moment? Just seeing friends I probably won’t see again for a while. I’m going to miss them. I’ve always been able to just pick up my phone and see if they want to meet up, but it’s not going to be like that anymore. The people here have been so great, and I look forward to seeing them do well in the future.

Who should go next time? Everyone!
