Yale Insights Offers the Chance to Explore Faculty Research Through AI
Yale SOM’s online thought-leadership magazine now includes an AI-powered chatbot that can answer questions about faculty research studies.
Yale Insights, Yale SOM’s online thought-leadership magazine, is offering a new way to engage with articles about Yale SOM faculty research: an AI-powered chat that answers questions about the underlying study.
For more than a decade, Yale Insights has published feature stories about new studies, based on interviews with faculty members, that make the research accessible for a general audience and explain its impact on policy and business practice. An increasing number of these stories now include AI Insights, a chat module that allows readers to go beyond what is discussed in the feature story and ask questions about any aspect of the research study, including data, methodology, and conclusions.
The AI Insights module uses a Large Language Model (LLM) similar to those used by general-purpose chatbots like ChatGPT and Gemini. Like those LLMs, it may not always be accurate. But readers can drill further into its responses by viewing references drawn from the text of the study.
