‘Health & Veritas’ Podcast Marks 200 Episodes

The podcast, hosted by physician-professors Howard Forman and Harlan Krumholz, features lively, informed conversations on health, healthcare, and policy.

Once a week since the fall of 2021, Professors Howard Forman and Harlan Krumholz have sat down in front of their microphones to, as they put it, “get closer to the truth about health and healthcare.”

The result is the podcast Health & Veritas, which draws on the expertise of Forman, Krumholz, and their guests to shed light on big and small questions facing providers, policymakers, and patients. This week, the podcast, which is produced with Yale SOM and the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH), will post its 200th episode.

Both hosts are multitalented physician-professors who work at the intersection of clinical medicine, public health, and policy. Forman is a diagnostic radiologist and a longtime Yale SOM faculty member who founded the school’s MD-MBA and MBA for Executives programs; he also leads the Health Care Management Program at the School of Public Health and teaches a Yale College course on healthcare economics. Krumholz is a cardiologist and scientist and the director of the Yale New Haven Hospital Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation.

Health & Veritas benefits from Forman and Krumholz’s vast networks of colleagues and former students: guests have included former U.S. surgeon general Vivek Murthy ’03; researchers like the Yale School of Medicine’s Akiko Iwasaki and Ania Jastreboff; Yale leaders including former president Peter Salovey, YSPH dean Megan Ranney, and School of Medicine dean Nancy Brown; public voices like Peter Hotez, Eric Topol, Katelyn Jetelina (better known as Your Local Epidemiologist), and “Medical Mythbuster” Joel Bervell; and many other clinicians, scientists, government officials, and entrepreneurs inside and outside of Yale.
