Celebrating Women Who Make a Difference
Yale SOM marks Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day with a myriad of events in March.
During the month of March, the Yale School of Management participates in the U.S. celebration of Women’s History Month, including International Women’s Day on March 8. This year, the national theme is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.” Our campus celebration will highlight women who work toward eliminating bias and discrimination from our lives and institutions for the betterment of society.
SOM’s Office of Inclusion and Diversity is collaborating with students, staff, and faculty to celebrate Women’s History Month as a community. Events and programs will include a curated Spotify playlist, book giveaways, panel discussions, and a cuisine takeover highlighting women from all over the world. Our panel discussions will focus on the impact social media has on women and girls, as well as the experience of PhD students at Yale. We will also be supporting local and national women-owned restaurants, bookstores, and venues throughout the month.
Women in Management, SOM’s largest student-run club, is planning impactful programming focused on community building, awareness, and celebration. Fempire, the club’s flagship conference, will focus on amplifying women’s voices.
All month long, our large video walls inside Evans Hall will feature fearless women from the past and present who understand the importance of change and work to establish firmer safeguards, practices, and legislation reflecting these values.
OID hosts multiple cultural immersions throughout the academic year to encourage the SOM community to deeply engage with and experience different cultures through sound, taste, touch, and thought in support of our mission to foster understanding, empathy, and inclusivity.
We invite you to learn more about our commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering inclusion at SOM.
Happy Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day!
