Three Graduating Students Receive Dean’s Mission & Impact Award
The students were recognized for their contributions to the Yale SOM and New Haven communities.
Three members of the Class of 2025 have been selected as recipients of the Dean’s Mission & Impact Award, Dean Kerwin K. Charles announced last week. The Mission & Impact Award has been presented annually since 2021 to students who, during their time at Yale SOM, have embodied the school’s mission to educate leaders for business and society through their contributions to the community.
“This year’s honorees have gone above and beyond in fulfilling the school’s mission and contributing to our community, our city, and our global society,” Charles said. “With their classmates, they are ready to join the ranks of SOM alumni creating impact across sectors.”
The 2024 recipients of the Dean’s Mission & Impact Award are:
- Claire Kelly ’25, a student in the full-time MBA program, who expanded the work of Yale SOM’s Social Impact Consulting Club, recruiting new members and leading 14 teams in implementing impactful community projects. “Her dedication to social impact at SOM has also been evident in her role as managing editor for the Program on Social Enterprise, Innovation and Impact; and through her leadership in Net Impact, Women in Management, Social Impact Lab, and Global Social Entrepreneurship Kenya,” Charles wrote in an email to the community.
- Jaryd Raizon ’25, a student in the Master of Advanced Management program, who built relationships with peer schools and prospective students. Raizon was “one of the most active admissions ambassadors this past year, engaging with prospective students through social media, podcasts, and outreach initiatives,” Charles wrote, noting that he also “fostered SOM’s global relationships as a GNAM ambassador during the October Global Network Week at SOM.”
- Ron Coleman ’25, a student in the full-time MBA program and co-founder of the New Haven Counts tutoring organization. A local New Havener, Coleman co-led SOM’s “Welcome to New Haven” orientation, a program that encourages involvement in the community. “His efforts to strengthen the school’s mission-focused culture are further reflected in his involvement in the SOM Inclusive Growth Fellowship and leadership in the Education Club,” Charles wrote. “Ron has helped cultivate a more inclusive, engaged, and mission-driven community, at SOM and beyond.”
In recognition of the recipients, the school will make contributions to impactful local organizations of their choice.
