Kyle Jensen, senior lecturer and the Shanna and Eric Bass ’05 Director of Entrepreneurial Programs, and Jiwoong Shin, professor of marketing, are the winners of Yale SOM’s annual teaching awards for residential programs.

Shin won the award for core curriculum teaching, selected by a vote of students in the full-time MBA program. He teaches the core course Customer as well as the elective Marketing Strategy.

“Teaching at SOM has been one of the most rewarding parts of my academic life,” Shin said. “Our students challenge me, inspire me, and make every class a genuine exchange of ideas. I feel incredibly honored to be recognized for something I truly love doing—thank you!”

Jensen, who serves as associate dean as well as leading the Program on Entrepreneurship, won the award for elective teaching, selected by a vote of students in the full-time MBA program, the Master of Advanced Management program, the Master’s Degree in Global Business and Society program, the Master’s Degree in Asset Management program, the Master’s Degree in Systemic Risk program, and the Master’s Degree in Technology Management program. His courses include Management of Software Development, Database Systems, and Large Language Models: Technology and Applications.

“I’m indebted to the students and staff who co-created fun learning environments with me this year,” Jensen said. “And, I’m grateful for the honor—though it’s unclear I would have won if I didn’t give out so many laptop stickers.”
