Meet the Master’s in Asset Management Class of 2025
The newest students in Yale SOM’s Master’s in Asset Management program began class on August 28. Learn more about the incoming class from Laurel Grodman, assistant dean for admissions.
We in Admissions are thrilled to welcome the 60 members of the Master’s in Asset Management Class of 2025 to Yale SOM. Students in this program spend a year at Yale completing an innovative course of study designed by asset management pioneers David Swensen and Tobias Moskowitz.
The Master’s in Asset Management Class of 2025 is a globally diverse cohort, with students holding 17 different citizenships. Among the class members, 92% speak at least two languages and 43% speak at least three, including Arabic, Azerbaijani, German, Greek, French, Gujarati, Hindi, Italian, Georgian, Kannada, Mongolian, Swedish, Vietnamese, Yoruba, Chinese, Spanish, Persian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Tamil, Turkish, and Ukrainian. Three class members are true polyglots and speak five languages each.
This dynamic group is rarely found resting. Nearly every new student is actively engaged in athletic endeavors, from playing tennis and basketball to weight lifting, mountain biking, and competing in equestrian sports. In the résumé section of the application—the admissions committee’s favorite to read—our students listed many fun interests and hobbies, including camping in national parks, writing poetry, volunteer firefighting, and meditation. The three most frequently listed activities and interests are piano, chess, and investing. Not so shockingly, that last hobby was listed on nearly every class member’s résumé. They seem to be in the right program.
They may have different interests and talents, but members of the Class of 2025 are united by their aspiration to do good and do well in their asset management careers, embodying the school’s mission of educating leaders for business and society. We are so excited for them to begin this journey!
