Meet the MAM Class of 2025

Learn about the newest students in Yale SOM’s Master of Advanced Management program from Kate Navarro, the director of admissions for management master’s programs.

This year, we welcome 40 students to the Master of Advanced Management Class of 2025. MAM students spend a year taking advanced coursework at Yale after completing an MBA at a top global business school.

Students in this year’s MAM class come from 24 MBA schools around the world. Among the incoming class, 22 citizenships are represented, 45% of the students are women, and the average age is 31.

MAM students speak 32 languages, and 95% students hold a passport from a country outside the U.S. Over half the incoming students have obtained or are working toward an MBA in a country other than their home country, and the average work experience among the group is seven years.

MAM students spend a year at Yale, curating their own curricula by choosing from electives offered at Yale SOM and across the university. Students have the opportunity to dive deep into a specific focus area of their choice or select a wide range of topics covered by Yale’s thousands of elective courses. In addition to elective courses, students will take two required courses as a cohort.

Students in the MAM Class of 2025 come from many professions; the top industries represented are financial services, consulting, and technology, followed by manufacturing and energy. Students come from different professional paths: the new class includes entrepreneurs, consultants, senior partner managers, an assistant vice president at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, a CEO of a Mexican company, and a veteran who served in the U.S. Army for 10 years. Their former employers include Google, Chanel, Bank of China, Netflix, Barclays, Keurig, Dr. Pepper, Deloitte Consulting, LinkedIn, Intel Corporation, and many more.

Students in the incoming class hold degrees in business, engineering, film studies, law, molecular and cell biology, philosophy, hardware engineering, biotechnology and several languages. Many have earned awards or graduated with honors from previous academic institutions; two were top students in their MBA class, and one was listed in MBA World Summit’s list of Most Inspiring MBAs Worldwide. Five students have master’s degrees in addition to their MBA degrees. Students also hold ICAN, ACCA, CPA, and CFA certifications.

MAM students also bring a variety of interests and hobbies to campus. One student is was a pole-vaulting champion in college, while another student has golfed competitively for over 15 years. Several students have published books, competed in short film contests, or started education companies. One student completed the San Francisco marathon, and a few are stand-up comedians.

Many students have been mentors and volunteer teachers to low-income children in their home countries. They have served in leadership positions during their MBAs, including in clubs focused on technology, consulting, women’s leadership, golf, and student life. Others have volunteered in to purify water in remote villages and schools, assisted with wildlife conservation, served food to the hungry, and mentored youth in sports and academics.

We also have many sports enthusiasts who enjoy soccer, golf, swimming, boxing, pole vaulting, skiing, snowboarding, badminton, cycling, and basketball. Many students play instruments such as piano, guitar, and violin. Hiking is a common hobby; one student organized a 15-member expedition to climb the highest mountain in Europe.

We are excited to welcome this accomplished group of students to the MAM Class of 2025 as they begin their journey at Yale SOM!
