Laura Adler, assistant professor of organizational behavior, won two awards for her doctoral research at the Academy of Management’s annual meeting earlier this month. Adler was the winner of Social Issues in Management Division’s Best Dissertation Award and the Louis Pondy Best Dissertation Paper Award, presented by the Organization and Management Theory Division in recognition of a paper derived from a dissertation.

Adler’s paper was “The Paradox of Individual Equity: How Employers Explain the Fairness of Unequal Pay.”

Adler joined Yale SOM’s faculty in 2022 after receiving her doctorate from Harvard University. Her research examines the world of work, with studies on gender and pay equity, job-seeking, and the gig economy, using both fieldwork and experimentation.
