Prof. K. Sudhir Named Marketing Science Institute Academic Fellow

Academic Fellows  help MSI to build its knowledge base and develop innovative programming through academic-industry collaborations.

K. Sudhir headshotK. Sudhir, James L. Frank ’32 Professor of Private Enterprise and Management, professor of marketing, and director of the China India Insights Program, has been named a Marketing Science Institute Academic Fellow.

MSI is a nonprofit dedicated to bringing science to the marketing industry. Academic Fellows help MSI to build its knowledge base and develop innovative programming through academic-industry collaborations.

“I am delighted to welcome these accomplished scholars. They bring deep expertise in research domains from ethnography to analytics to deep learning, as well as longstanding ties with MSI, and they will greatly enrich our community as Academic Fellows,” said Barbara Kahn, MSI’s 2019-21 executive director, in a press release.

Sudhir is a pioneer in the use of structural empirical methods in marketing to address various substantive problems in the areas of customer management, salesforce management, organizational buying, and marketing channels. He has recently started a research agenda around artificial intelligence, big data and machine learning. Sudhir’s research has been honored with multiple best paper awards from leading quantitative marketing journals. He currently serves as a visiting fellow at Microsoft Research for the year 2020, and is the editor-in-chief of Marketing Science.
