Video: Dancing for a Good Cause at Star Search

We visited with members of the South Asia Club as they rehearsed Indian group dances for the annual fundraiser Star Search.

One of the biggest events of the year at Yale SOM is Star Search, when students show off their talents and compete for bragging rights. More than just a variety show, Star Search raises money for the Internship Fund, which provides stipends for students doing summer internships in the public or nonprofit sectors.  The South Asia Club’s showcase of Indian group dancing is always a highlight of the night. This year, club members and friends spent two weeks learning two Bollywood dances and one Bhangra dance, a traditional Punjabi form associated with the spring harvest.
