Tell us about your International Experience trip. Where did you go? What was your favorite part?

During my International Experience trip, I ventured to Kenya with Professor Kevin Donovan, whose IE course intersected with my interests in Economic Development. Over two weeks, we dove into the multifaceted landscape of Kenya and were immersed in the remarkable blend of natural beauty, wildlife, business, and socio-economic development the country had to offer. Our itinerary was brimming with enriching encounters, spanning from engaging with visionary leaders behind impactful startups like HelloTractor and NGOs such as SHOFCO in Kibera, to dialogues with key figures at Safaricom, and pioneers in Private Equity and Impact VC at DOB Equity and Chui Ventures. In addition to these enlightening academic experiences, I had the unforgettable opportunity to feed giraffes, observe rescued baby elephants and rhinos, explore locations that inspired the iconic scenes of The Lion King, and engage with the local Masai tribes' people. I even found myself in the middle of a dramatic lion fight during a post-trip safari alongside a few adventurous classmates. Kenya's tapestry of experiences left an indelible mark, reaffirming my passion for exploring the intersections of business and economic development on a global scale.
