Tell us about your International Experience trip. Where did you go? What was your favorite part?

I did the Global Social Entrepreneurship course in the Spring and travelled to Brazil in March 2025. It was my first trip to South America, and I had such a great time! Through this course, we worked with a nonprofit based in Sao Paulo on an impact measurement process. As someone who is very interested in working at the intersection of business and nonprofit management, I loved the hands-on experience of bringing business perspectives to nonprofits in Brazil. We got to meet different nonprofit clients, the Board of our nonprofit client and its Investors and learnt a lot about the nonprofit and philanthropic landscape in Brazil.

I then got to travel to Rio de Janeiro and Florianopolis with my friends and had such a great time. Luckily, I was also able to be in Brazil for the last week of Carnaval and got to immerse myself in the local food and culture. I love how the Global Study Requirement gives all of us chances to bond with our classmates outside the SOM bubble and get to know everyone on a very deep personal level.
