Photos: International Experience 2019—Israel

In March, students in the International Experience course traveled to the Balkans, China, Israel, India, Japan, New Zealand, Peru, and South Africa to learn about local business environments and cultures—and sent back photos of their experiences.

The focus of the IE trip to Israel was Innovation. The State of Israel, established in 1948 with a population of about 600,000 in a small, resource-poor, arid strip of land, on the eastern edge of the Mediterranean surrounded by hostile nations with which it has fought five major wars, has managed to develop into a prosperous, dynamic economy that is on the forefront of technological and commercial innovation. Tel-Aviv is routinely listed as second only to Silicon Valley as a best place for startup companies, and, aside from China, Israel lists more companies on Nasdaq than any other non-U.S. company and is ranked 19th out of 193 countries on the U.N.’s human development index, surpassing France, Spain, and Belgium.
