Learn about the newest students in Yale SOM’s Master of Advanced Management program from Kate Navarro, the director of admissions for management master’s programs.
The 44 members of Yale SOM’s Master of Advanced Management Class of 2027 arrive in New Haven with careers that have spanned industries and continents. Their diverse perspectives and entrepreneurial ambitions are shaped by the many places they have lived and worked.
Incoming students have earned or are working toward MBAs at 21 institutions in 17 countries. They have professional experience in 22 countries across Latin America, North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
The class includes graduates of HEC Paris, Fudan University School of Management, UBC Sauder School of Business, NUS Business School, Indian School of Business, HKUST Business School, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business, Cambridge Judge Business School, and Seoul National University Business School, among others. They’ve developed academic expertise in subjects including engineering, mathematics, natural sciences, economics, law, public health, communications, literature, and performance studies.
Before Yale SOM, members of the Class of 2027 worked at organizations including Amazon, Google, Tesla, Alibaba, Mercado Libre, Xiaomi, Samsung, Richemont, BCG, Deloitte, PwC, Capgemini, and the Singapore Ministry of Social and Family Development, in sectors ranging from technology, consulting, and financial services to energy, education, hospitality, and infrastructure.
Entrepreneurship is a defining characteristic of the class. Nearly one-third have held a founder or co-founder role, building ventures in embedded insurance, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, education, investment management, sustainable consumer products, hospitality, outdoor recreation, and digital marketing. One founder’s luxury fashion label has appeared on runways during fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, London, and New York.
Outside of work, members of the class pursued a wide range of interests. The class includes an Indian classical dancer who is also a strength-training enthusiast, an endurance runner pursuing marathons across the United States, a Half Dome hiker, and a student who learned to swim, earned an Advanced Open Water diving certification, and began training in kayaking and surfing—all in one year.
Creativity is another theme in the cohort. The class includes a former freelance tattoo artist, a glass artist preparing a first solo exhibition, pianists, a collector of more than 300 vinyl records, and a professional mridangam player who has helped expand opportunities for women in classical South Indian percussion.
This range of backgrounds and ambitions is what makes the MAM classroom distinctive. Welcome to Yale SOM, MAM Class of 2027!
