Yale SOM Expands Scholarship Opportunities for MAM and GBS Students

Evelyn Wilson, senior associate director of management master’s programs, announces several new scholarships designed to make a Yale SOM education more accessible to exceptional students.

Yale SOM is committed to bringing exceptional students from around the world to campus, and to building a community where talented leaders with diverse experiences, perspectives, and ambitions can learn from one another.

To further that commitment, the school is introducing a new set of named scholarships for students in the Master of Advanced Management (MAM) and Master’s in Global Business & Society (GBS) programs. The scholarships are designed to attract outstanding candidates whose experiences, accomplishments, and aspirations will contribute to our community and to SOM’s positive impact in the world.

The new scholarships recognize a wide range of leadership interests and experiences, reflecting the diversity of talent we seek in both programs.

New scholarships for exceptional talent

The MAM and GBS programs will each offer named scholarships recognizing candidates who demonstrate excellence and potential in areas that align with SOM’s mission and community.

The Business & Society Scholarship supports candidates who demonstrate a commitment to leveraging business for positive societal impact, aligning with SOM’s mission to educate leaders for business and society.

The Sustainability Scholarship supports candidates dedicated to advancing environmental and social sustainability and who occupy, or aspire to hold, leadership roles in sustainable business practices.

The Community Impact Scholarship supports candidates working in government, nonprofit, or public service roles who are committed to advancing the public good and creating lasting positive change in the communities and sectors they serve.

The Entrepreneurial Excellence Scholarship supports candidates who have demonstrated entrepreneurial initiative or who aspire to build and scale new ventures, products, or innovations within existing organizations. The scholarship recognizes candidates who pair creativity and resourcefulness with disciplined execution and a commitment to creating value for customers, organizations, and society.

The Global Citizen Scholarship supports candidates whose experiences reflect a global outlook and a commitment to working across cultures, countries, and perspectives. The scholarship recognizes candidates who have lived, studied, or worked in diverse international contexts and who seek to advance inclusive, responsible leadership in an interconnected world.

In recognition of SOM’s 50th anniversary this year, a Yale SOM 50th Anniversary Scholarship will be awarded to candidates from distinctive professional backgrounds whose industry experience and perspectives will enrich the school community and contribute to a dynamic classroom environment. This scholarship will be offered for one year only.

The GBS program will offer one additional named scholarship: the Future Leaders Scholarship, which supports high-potential candidates who demonstrate early leadership and strong initiative. The scholarship recognizes candidates with a clear trajectory of impact and a commitment to learning, collaboration, and values-driven leadership in their careers.

Together, these scholarships reflect the breadth of talent SOM seeks to bring to its classrooms: entrepreneurs and public servants, sustainability leaders and global citizens, emerging leaders and experienced professionals, all united by a desire to create meaningful impact.

An investment in the next generation of leaders

For students considering graduate management education, the decision to attend SOM represents an investment in the future. Students in both programs finance their education in a variety of ways, and most students receive financial support of some kind.

For both the MAM and GBS programs, all admitted students are automatically assessed for merit-based scholarships, with no separate application materials required. Admitted students may also choose to apply for need-aware scholarships to be considered for additional scholarship opportunities based on their financial circumstances.

Merit-based and need-based scholarships are combined to create a tailored financial aid package, helping make a Yale SOM education a possibility for a broader range of exceptional candidates. However, Yale SOM does not offer full-tuition scholarships for either program. Candidates should therefore plan to contribute a portion of their tuition themselves and explore the full range of financing resources available to them.

Our financial aid team is available to connect with candidates to discuss funding options in greater detail. We also recommend that students review our filterable external scholarship database, which allows candidates to filter based on industry, region, population, background, and more to help find specific external opportunities to finance their education.

By expanding named scholarship opportunities across the MAM and GBS programs, SOM is reaffirming its commitment to attracting talented students with the ambition, curiosity, and diverse perspectives needed to address the challenges facing business and society today. Learn more about scholarship opportunities through the MAM Scholarship website and GBS scholarship website. If you are ready to broaden your perspective and join a global community of exceptional leaders, we invite you to explore the MAM or GBS at Yale SOM.
