What is your advice for a prospective SOMer?

The initial semester at SOM is as rigorous as it is rewarding, featuring a core curriculum that will challenge and build your foundation in business. Prepare to dive deep into complex case studies, collaborative projects, and dynamic classroom discussions. This intense period is your first step toward becoming a leader equipped to make impactful decisions in any sector. I believe one of the best strategies to thrive here is to connect with peers who complement your strengths and challenge your perspectives. I strongly recommend finding a study partner early on or forming a study group. Not only does this help in managing the academic load, but it also enhances your learning experience through diverse insights. Yale SOM offers extensive resources to support your academic journey. Do not shy away from utilizing tutoring supports available to you. These resources are here to help you excel academically and are tailored to meet the demands of our unique challenges. Engagement outside the classroom is key to the full SOM experience. Participate in clubs and weekly events that align with your interests or stretch your boundaries. This involvement is a fantastic way to network, learn informally, and find balance. The connections you make here will support you through your studies and into your career!
