What surprised you the most about being an MBA student?
What surprised me most was how vibrant and active life is at Yale SOM and in New Haven. Coming from Los Angeles, I anticipated a quieter pace in a smaller town, but I quickly discovered the opposite. Orientation week was packed with diverse social events from spin classes to escape rooms to happy hours which set the tone for my entire experience. This level of activity continued throughout my first year, with numerous events organized by student clubs and the broader Yale community. To balance academics, recruiting, and social engagements, I found it essential to plan my weeks thoughtfully. Additionally, New Haven's culinary scene was a delightful surprise! I enjoyed exploring a variety of restaurants and still have many more on my list that I’m excited to try.
