Tell us about your International Experience trip. Where did you go? What was your favorite part?
I had the opportunity to go to Ireland as part of my international experience trip and observe how Ireland became an economic powerhouse in the world in a few decades, thanks to smart economic policy-making. Talking to businesses and policy advocates in the country, one quickly gets the sense that everyone in the country is aligned in terms of the direction the country must take, from openness to trade and free movement of capital to general business-friendly policies. The country is also rich in history and I was able to experience the Irish culture in national galleries, famous beer and whiskey distilleries, and the Temple Bar area, a cluster of pubs, and restaurants. After numerous business visits, I had a lot of fun with other fellow students exploring the city and Irish pubs during the evenings.
