A Chat with the Yale School of Management’s Professor Will Goetzmann
Tuesday, Aug 24 2021 at 12:00 - 1:00 pm EDT
The full and long-term impact of the global pandemic on the finance industry over the past year and a half is, in many ways, still to be determined, but scholars, including those at Yale SOM, have produced fascinating insights during this time. Simultaneously, the experience of completing an EMBA in the middle of a public health crisis also shifted during the 2020-2021 school year, with changes to program delivery, working at home and networking, resulting in both unique challenges and in some cases, better than expected outcomes and learnings.
Join Ivy Exec and Yale SOM for a fireside conversation with Professor Will Goetzmann, faculty director for the MBA for Executives program’s Asset Management area of focus. Professor Goetzmann will discuss his work in topics such as the art market, financial history and the stock market, and alternative investments, as well as the state of the asset management and investments industry and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He’ll be joined by Justin Wilson and Renee Greene, recent alumni from the Yale SOM Class of 2021, who will provide a student and alumni perspective on their work in the industry historically and over the last year, their experience in the MBA for Executives program and the benefits of the opportunity to focus on asset management within the program. Justin and Renee will discuss how they juggled work and home life with pursuing an EMBA, why they chose Yale SOM’s MBA for Executives program, offer advice to those considering an EMBA and reminisce about their favorite EMBA moments, including the close relationship each has formed with Professor Goetzmann as students and alumni of Yale SOM.
