Post-GBS Position: Global payment solution analyst, Bank of America Hong Kong

I was eager to immerse myself in the global business landscape, connect with diverse professionals, and expand my thinking beyond conventional boundaries. The GBS program provided exactly what I was looking for—a curriculum that builds a solid business foundation while challenging students to address broader societal implications. I particularly appreciated the integrated approach, where concepts like strategy and leadership are illustrated through real-world examples in courses like Managing Groups and Teams and Science of Experiences and Well-Being. It makes learning more impactful.

My time at Yale ignited my passion for leveraging technology to drive positive change in the financial services industry. Courses like The Future of Global Finance and talks by visionary leaders showed me the immense potential of AI to revolutionize global payments, risk management, and customer experience. I was inspired by examples of financial institutions harnessing AI not just to create value but also to make financial services more accessible and inclusive.

Working at the intersection of finance and technology, I can play a role in shaping a more equitable and efficient financial system that benefits people from all walks of life. As I embark on my post-GBS journey as a global payment solution analyst at Bank of America, I’m committed to developing solutions that not only streamline cross-border transactions, but also foster financial inclusion.

What truly surprised me about the SOM community was the unexpected culture of collaboration. I arrived bracing myself for intense competition, but instead discovered an environment where collective success is valued over individual accomplishment. The willingness of people here to share their experiences and insights has been genuinely moving—whether it’s my GBS cohort, fellow students from the MBA or other programs, or faculty members. These interactions have enriched my learning experience and provided valuable perspectives that have shaped my personal and professional growth.
