The Master’s in Global Business and Society (GBS) program is designed for students who have completed or are working towards a master in management or equivalent degree. Students build foundational leadership skills, expand global awareness, and explore how business can drive meaningful impact. GBS students shape their academic experience by selecting electives that strengthen core management skills while also taking advantage of courses across the university in areas such as law, global affairs, entrepreneurship, and public health.
This interdisciplinary environment encourages curiosity, broad thinking, and collaboration across fields. Students gain the perspective and practical tools needed to navigate today’s fast-changing global landscape, preparing them to contribute thoughtfully and responsibly in their professional roles and beyond.

Apply now to join Yale SOM's GBS program. Candidates can apply before, during or after their master in management program.
Prior
SOM partners with select schools to allow students to apply to both a master in management program at a partner school and the GBS program simultaneously. Simply apply to the MIM program and indicate your interest in the GBS program. We coordinate with the MIM school to review your application at the same time, so you’ll receive admission decisions for both programs within the same cycle and gain a clear view of your next two-year academic plan from the start.
During
Once you’ve started your master in management, you can apply to the GBS program directly through our website. Through our partnerships with select MIM schools, credits earned in the GBS may transfer towards your MIM degree, allowing you to complete both programs within a shorter amount of time than it would take for you to complete them separately. If your MIM program will be completed before the GBS program begins, you may also apply during your MIM program and receive an offer pending MIM completion.
After
Apply to the GBS program after completing your master in management or equivalent degree. While there is no specific time limit for applying, we recommend doing so soon after your MIM to best leverage and build upon your recent knowledge and experience through the GBS program.
