Master’s in Asset Management
The asset management program offered a curriculum focused directly on my area of career interest, and it’s letting me improve my industry knowledge as well as my hard skill sets. The STEM skills have become increasingly important in asset management, so learning how to analyze and deal with large amounts of data is critical today. In the program, we’re exposed to concepts at the forefront of data analysis and machine learning. But the most valuable part is having the chance to learn from world-class faculty with decades of experience in their fields. Learning from practicing experts gives you an unparalleled opportunity to gain practical insights.

In addition to choosing an area of focus, students can also explore a wide range of topics related to asset management. I’ve improved my quantitative knowledge through classes like Quantitative Investing; deepened my knowledge of investing theory through Asset Pricing Theory; and learned about current market issues through courses like Central Banking and Macroeconomic Theory. I look forward to taking electives that will equip me with practical skills, including Fixed Income Strategies, Portfolio Management, and Financial Statement Analysis.
I’ve really enjoyed being part of the larger SOM community, which includes students from diverse geographic and professional backgrounds. The new perspectives and topics I’ve been exposed to have given me a greater appreciation for the breadth of the finance industry and its very global nature. The asset management program is also very diverse, and my classmates’ varied backgrounds and perspectives have introduced me to different cultures and industries. We’re a tight-knit, congenial cohort, and I’ve made a lot of close friends. I expect to stay close with many of them after graduation.
