What was your favorite memory from your first year?
In the spring, I participated in "Voices," an SOM tradition where I gave a TED-talk-style presentation about my life. It required a level of vulnerability that would typically make me feel incredibly uncomfortable. Just days before stepping on stage, I still didn't know exactly what I was going to say, yet my friends were already offering words of encouragement. When I finally stood before the large crowd of people I invited, all my anxiety vanished. I felt entirely at ease, afterwards I realized how special the SOM community is. I shared my most deeply personal stories, and felt completely safe because of the months we had spent building genuine connections. Seeing all the people I've befriended in classes, clubs, and random social events fill the room is my best example of how we show up for one another here.
