What was your favorite memory from your first year?

My favorite memory was actually from the very first week of orientation. Coming from East Asia, I wasn't used to speaking up spontaneously in class. I'm someone who prefers to organize my thoughts before contributing. So initially, the fast-paced, discussion-heavy environment felt challenging.

What stood out to me was how one of my learning team members noticed this. He quietly asked about my communication style and made a small but meaningful adjustment, making sure I had space to share when I felt ready. From then on, my group consistently checked in and invited my perspective after others had spoken.

That experience really stayed with me. It showed me that leadership can start from paying attention, understanding how others work, and creating an environment where everyone can contribute at their best. It set the tone for how collaborative and thoughtful the community here is, and I felt confident I could grow and learn here.
