What is your advice for a prospective SOMer?
My biggest piece of advice would be to come in with an open mind and a genuine curiosity about the people around you. One of the things that surprised me most about SOM is just how diverse the community is, and I mean that in every sense of the word. Your classmates, the people in your clubs, the person you run into at your favourite coffee shop, they are all coming from completely different walks of life and careers and parts of the world.
That is an incredible resource if you let it be. There are always events, conversations, and opportunities to try things you never would have considered before. My advice is to lean into that, not just as a networking opportunity, but as a chance to genuinely learn about different cultures and perspectives. You will be surprised how much that shapes both your experience and how you think about the world.
