Meet the New Assistant Dean for EMBA
Wendy Tsung joins the Yale EMBA program from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. She first got to know Yale SOM when the school was a subject of her research on innovative business schools.
My journey to the Yale School of Management actually started well over four years ago. The thesis for my doctoral studies at the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania explored how new education models can reshape the MBA. While researching innovations in management education, I had the opportunity to interview the senior leaders and faculty at Yale School of Management and learn about the mission-based strategy and the unique Global Network for Advanced Management model. I came away from those interviews thoroughly impressed with Yale SOM’s mission and forward-thinking strategy, which is now documented in my dissertation.
So, when the opportunity arose to lead the MBA for Executives program, I naturally jumped at the chance. It also didn’t hurt that this opportunity would potentially move me, my husband, and our two young boys closer to family in the New York and New Haven areas.
What I did not fully appreciate from my brief time at Yale School of Management four years ago was how welcoming the entire Yale SOM family would be. Transitions, especially when you have put down roots—I lived in Atlanta for nearly 20 years—are never easy, but the community here has made the move a real joy. I am excited to be a part of this incredible team that strives to be the best while bringing everyone along. What a thrill it is to see the passion and dedication that our admissions, program office, and lifelong alumni services teams have in selecting, developing, and advancing future generations of our most successful business leaders.
I’m very much looking forward to getting to know each of you better over time, and to the exciting work ahead. I hope to see you at one of our upcoming admissions events.
