From the Director of Admissions: The GBS Application is Opening in September
Kate Navarro shares insights into the 2023-2024 Master’s in Global Business and Society application process.
Yale’s Master of Global Business and Society (GBS) Admissions team is eagerly awaiting the start of the 2023-2024 admissions cycle. Mark your calendars: the GBS application will open on September 21, 2023.
Similarly to last year, there will be three rounds in which to apply. These deadlines are January 4, February 21, and April 3. Round 1 is reserved for Global Network for Advanced Management students. Rounds 2 and 3, however, will be open to MIM students outside of the Global Network. Regardless of where you obtained your MIM, we will be selecting the best and brightest candidates from around the world.
Our application is composed of typical materials needed to submit your master in management application, such as transcripts, a resumé, and recommendations. In addition, there are a few unique components that we look forward to reviewing: items such as the essays and video questions. These parts of the application help us get to know you better, giving you a chance to show our team your authentic self.
A question our team receives often is “What do you look for in a candidate?” Some key elements we are paying attention to—passion for making an impact, commitment to community, academic excellence, leadership potential, intellectual curiosity, and goals that align with our mission. Utilize the application as a place to connect the dots and tell us why and how the GBS fits into your story.
Our Admissions team invites you to join us for upcoming webinars to learn more about the GBS program at Yale SOM. We will be hosting information sessions, application tips webinars, student panels, alumni panels and more. Each of these webinars will provide you with insight into the program and what it’s like to be a student at Yale SOM. We also encourage you to read our blog and newsletters, and watch our previously recorded webinars.
