From the Assistant Dean for Admissions: Checking in with the First Class of Asset Management Graduates

Laurel Grodman offers a look at career outcomes for the inaugural Class of 2022.

March is a busy month for the Master’s in Asset Management admissions team. We’re in the process of learning more about candidates for the Class of 2024 through applications and interviews and will soon head into committee to make our admissions decisions. One of the important things we look for in successful applicants is a demonstrated interest in and plan for launching a career in the field of asset management. More than just a finance degree, the Yale School of Management Master’s in Asset Management is a one-of-a-kind program for early-career professionals to launch a career in selective areas of finance that require highly specialized skills and knowledge. We’re looking for students who will make the most of this opportunity.

Our inaugural Class of 2022 graduates are shining examples of the many ways our students leverage their degree to make an impact. With a median salary of more than $100,000, graduates of the program are now working as buy-side analysts for private equity firms, investment managers at both venture capital firms and hedge funds, and as ESG reporting analysts at financial service firms. Graduates have also chosen careers in sales and trading for major international banks and in strategy and consulting roles at insurance companies. And their impact can be felt throughout the globe: They’ve settled in places as nearby as Greenwich, Connecticut, and as far away as Shanghai, China.
