Taking the next step in your academic and professional journey can be exciting and intimidating—that’s certainly how I felt when I finished my undergraduate degree. I came to SOM to develop the management skills and leadership mindset necessary to excel in cross-border, cross-cultural work settings. In the GBS program, I’ve thrived within a community of international peers and learned from a curriculum that bridges theory and practice. The caliber of class discussions and guidance from professors has allowed me to grow at a pace I never expected.

One of my favorite experiences at SOM was tapping into my passion for art through Magnus Resch’s class Entrepreneurship in the Art Market. As part of my coursework, I interviewed the CEO of Christie’s and met with gallerists in New York. Meanwhile, Adam Blumenthal’s course Private Equity: Value Creation gave me a strong understanding of the key drivers in private equity transactions, from strategic exits and IPOs to acquisitions and growth initiatives.

Outside the classroom, SOM’s mentorship program connected me with alumni working in finance who guided me with their professional advice. What really surprised me was the access I’ve enjoyed to world-class leaders who regularly engage with students. I’ve heard from Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, KKR executive Pete Stavros, and Chanel arts and culture head Yana Peel. These connections give me a stronger a clearer vision of the impact I want to create.

The SOM community is truly supportive, collaborative, and inspiring. Students consistently lift each other up through professional clubs, networking events, and spontaneous hallway conversations. It’s not all about classwork, either. My favorite moments include student opera performances and plays staged by local theaters. Even late nights studying at Sterling Library with classmates have often created moments of laughter, joy, and connection.
