Orpheus Orchestra at Carnegie Hall ft. Nobuyuki Tsujii

Saturday, Jan 27 2024 at 7:00 - 9:00 pm EST

881 7th Ave, New York, NY 10019, USA

Recent classes might remember Orpheus from a case study on collaborative leadership from the Managing Groups & Teams orientation class. Earlier this year our tickets for Orpheus Orchestra & Christine Baranski sold out overnight. We know a lot of people wanted to attend but were unable to secure tickets so we've organized another event.

Please join us on Saturday, January 27th for a two-hour performance by Orpheus Orchestra with a special guest performer, piano virtuoso, Nobuyuki Tsujii. We've secured a group rate so that tickets to the concert are only $21. There's also an optional hour-long champagne reception right before the event, which presents an opportunity to connect with fellow alumni attendees, other patrons, and representatives from Orpheus. We hope to see you there for a wonderful evening celebrating the arts in NYC alongside the Yale SOM alumni community.

Note: Due to high levels of interest in this event, we have partnered with Carnegie Hall to create a special discount code for Yale SOM Alumni who wish to still attend the event at a discounted price. Please register using the link below with the discount code: OrpheusYU for an exclusive Yale SOM discount.

More about the Show:

It’s always a party when Nobuyuki Tsujii sits in with Orpheus, especially when they revel in the shimmering virtuosity of Chopin. Instead of the usual orchestration that puts the ensemble deep in the background, a bespoke version by Shuying Li lets the musicians of Orpheus be true partners. The raucous characters and grand spectacles of a Venetian Ball come roaring to life in Zachary Wadsworth’s update of Schumann’s beloved piano score, Carnaval. A new work from composer/flutist/vocalist Nathalie Joachim kicks off the festivities with a celebration of her Haitian culture.

Concert Duration: 2 hours (includes intermission)
