Saphlux co-founder Chen Chen ’16 recently took home the top prize in the Fortune China Innovation Award Competition at the Fortune Global Forum in Guangzhou, China.
Saphlux produces innovative semi-polar emitter materials that enable next generation, high-efficiency, high-power, low-cost LEDs and lasers that will be compatible with most applications. Chen and Jung Han, professor of electrical engineering and chair of Yale’s Electrical Engineering Department, started Saphlux in 2014. The company has operations in Branford, Connecticut, and Shenzhen, China.
