IE Chile: Santiago

Although I am only halfway through my trip in Chile, I already find it hard to sum up how amazing this trip has been and what I've gained from my time here. The trip is divided into two parts mostly, Santiago and outside Santiago (Vina del Mar, Valparaiso). Similarly, my first post will concentrate on Santiago and the next one will touch on the experience outside Santiago. {C}The itinerary is top-notch and it has been amazing to meet, listen to and converse with the line-up of distinguished speakers including: Mr. Jose Pinera - Architect of Chile's private pension system Mr. Felipe Larrain - Chile's finance minister Mr. Fernando Larrain - CEO of Larrain Vial

We also went on a city tour of Santiago, which was exhausting but very enjoyable. We visited Pablo Neruda's house, took a funicular up San Cristobal hill, drank mote con huesillo and admired the beautiful Metropolitan Cathedral.

Being a big foodie, I must say that Chile's dinner hours of 8:30pm onwards is tad later than what I am used to. Nonetheless, the late dinners are worth every second, set again breathtaking city views, clear moonlit skies, easy banter and of course very tasty Chilean wine.
