Capital IQ

Just a quick update. I attended a Capital IQ session today held by a fellow SOM'13 student, Chris Magalhaes. The class was really informative, especially for someone who has no previous experience like me. Even for seasoned finance professionals (the guy next to me worked in PE before), the introductory session was very helpful in future careers. At the risk of sounding overly congratulatory, I am most impressed and heartened by the fact that the class was self-initiated. I think it is a testament to the community we have at SOM that is always willing to help each other out. Not just SOM, but I think Yale on the whole shares the same spirit. One Yale-wide initiative I would like to point out is HackYale, which is an open lecture series by Yale student to teach other Yalies web development and application design.
