Video: MAM Student Speaker Ana Victoria Gil ’21 at Commencement

Ana Victoria Gil ’21, a graduate of the Master of Advanced Management program, was one of several student speakers at Yale SOM’s commencement ceremony on Yale’s Old Campus on May 24.

“If there’s anything that was crystallized in the wake of this pandemic, “ Gil said, “it’s the importance of community, of friendship, of taking care of one another despite our perceived distance or difference.” 

Gil told her classmates that grappling with the major challenges facing the world, including racial justice, gender equity, and sustainability, would require “empathy, solidarity, people who can see beyond their own circumstances.” She urged them to seize such an issue, “whatever is meaningful to you, and weave it into your lives.”
