Investing in Trust
While a Master of Advanced Management student at Yale SOM, Joshua Chen MAM ’15 raised nearly $5 million for his own investment fund, according to an article in Yale Entrepreneur by Chen’s classmate Cameron Rout MAM ’15.

Chen, who before coming to Yale was a student at Renmin University of China School of Business, worked for McKinsey & Company as a consultant in China and later opened his own strategy and accounting firm. Over a decade, he gained investors’ trust and confidence. In the MAM program, he told Rout, he acquired the additional business skills that he needed.
Before coming to Yale, I did not have the confidence that I was able to deliver the level of reliability to my future partners that I wanted. My experiences and expertise was unique to me, but I needed the academic knowledge which has been validated and grounded in strong theory. Now that I have both—the experience and the education—I can sleep at night. I have found my inner peace.
