Erin Frey studies failure, recovery, and second chances. Her research examines how, when, and why individuals, groups, and industries fail, and what they can do afterward to recover. Using both qualitative and experimental methods, she has studied failure, recovery, and second chances across a variety of contexts: in the military, in scientific organizations, in the entertainment industry, and for individuals who have been convicted of white collar crime.
Professor Frey’s research has appeared in outlets such as Administrative Science Quarterly and Academy of Management Journal.
Professor Frey received her PhD from Harvard Business School. Prior to joining Yale School of Management, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Virginia and was an assistant professor at the University of Southern California. She holds a BA from Harvard College in Environmental Science and Public Policy.
