This joint-degree program with the Yale School of Engineering and Applied Science offers a unique opportunity to earn a Master’s of Science while getting your MBA. MS degrees are possible in the following disciplines:

  • Applied Physics
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Chemical and Environmental Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Electrical & Computer Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science

The MS/MBA is the same duration as the MBA. This program is designed for students aspiring to integrate advanced technical expertise with strategic management and leadership skills, preparing them for dynamic and impactful careers at the intersection of technology and business.

Structure

In the MBA/MS joint-degree program, students must complete the first year of the MBA program, including the MBA core curriculum, and then complete the MS requirements during the second year. Both degrees will be awarded at the end of the two-year period.

Admissions

Joint-degree applicants must apply to and be admitted to both programs independently but will indicate in the application that you are applying to the joint program. Applicants may apply to both programs simultaneously, or apply to the MS during their first year of the Yale SOM MBA program.

Per the requirements of the School of Engineering and Applied Science you will need to submit a GRE score on their MS application. And applicants must satisfy the prerequisites for their selected engineering program; typically, an undergraduate degree in a discipline that prepares one for graduate-level coursework. For example, typically students admitted to the MS/MBA with Computer Science will have undergraduate degrees in Computer Science or equivalent.
