Magnus Resch, PhD., is an art market expert, serial entrepreneur, and bestselling book author.
Recognized as "the world's leading art market economist" (CNN), Magnus focuses his research on the art market and the intersection of art, technology, and business. He has published several books, including the bestsellers How To Collect Art, How To Become A Successful Artist and Management of Art Galleries. In 2018, he co-authored the paper “Quantifying reputation and success in art,” which was published in Science Magazine. Magnus teaches art management at leading business universities, including Columbia University, New York; the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland; and most recently at Yale.
Magnus is also a serial entrepreneur. At the age of 20, he co-ran an art gallery in Switzerland. In 2012 he co-founded Larry’s List, the world’s premier art collector platform. In 2016 he launched the Magnus app, which worked like Shazam for art. Leonardo DiCaprio is an investor and advisor to the company.
Magnus’s activities have been covered in a Harvard Business School case study and in newspapers from around the world, including the New York Times, Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal. Magnus studied business at Harvard, the London School of Economics, and the University of St. Gallen. He lives in New York City.
