Zhen Lian is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management at the Yale School of Management. Professor Lian's research is at the intersection of optimization, transportation, and public policy, with a special focus on online marketplaces such as ridesharing. Before joining Yale, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the ridesharing company Lyft, where she worked on driver pay and incentive design. Additionally, Professor Lian takes a keen interest in applying optimization techniques to assist in public policy making. In 2021, she helped change the school schedules at the San Francisco Unified School District, resulting in annual savings of over $5 million for the district.
