Camino de Paz, Yale SOM's managing director of global initiatives, is the newest member of the Master’s Degree in Global Business and Society admissions team. She brings 20 years’ experience and a passion for global collaboration to her new role.
The Global Network for Advanced Management has been a key part of my work at the Yale School of Management over the past seven years. One of the most rewarding things along my journey has been the opportunity to partner with colleagues around the world to provide and advance global opportunities for all our stakeholders by leveraging each other’s strengths.
Through the Global Network’s different initiatives, I have had the opportunity to meet and interact with incredible students from all over the world with different experiences, cultures, and languages, but with the same passion for learning and advancing in their careers.
Now, my role has evolved, and I’m adding admissions for the Master’s Degree in Global Business and Society program to my portfolio. This new set of responsibilities will give me the opportunity to help recruit some of the amazing students pursuing MBA or MIM degrees at Global Network schools to Yale SOM for an additional year of study.
I have spent all of my career in higher education. What has kept me engaged in the industry for more than 20 years is that high education is a unique and exceptional field. Each student comes with different goals and dreams to pursue their graduate degree. Being able to witness their progress and help them customize their programs to better achieve their future goals is an honor—and a huge responsibility.
We are living through very difficult and uncertain times. While many may question the value of globalization, I am a firm believer that joint efforts from people with different backgrounds, cultures, and living in places at different stages of development will bring us much further as a society and make a bigger impact.
I am looking forward to continuing the hard work done by many of us at Yale SOM to advance our global footprint.
