Joseph Wright Alsop (PhB 1898) Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1976, this scholarship honors the memory of Mr. Alsop, Yale Class of 1898, founder and president of the Covenant Group.

Harry and Nisha Arora ’04 MBA Scholarship*
Established in 2015 by Harry and Nisha Arora ’04 MBA, this MBA scholarship supports students at the Yale School of Management.

Professor David Berg Leadership Scholarship*
Established anonymously in 2006 to honor David Berg, professor at Yale SOM from 1977 to 1992, this scholarship is awarded to an incoming student who has demonstrated, in his or her years since college graduation, a commitment to improving both the humaneness and effectiveness of organizational life through personal and institutional self-scrutiny.

Donald G. Borg (BA 1928) Fellowship
Established in 1977 to honor the memory of Mr. Borg, Yale Class of 1928.

Steven N. Brody ’66 BA Memorial Scholarship*
Established in 2021 by Seth Brody, Yale College Class of 1998, and his family, this scholarship, which honors the memory of Mr. Brody’s father, Steven N. Brody, Yale College Class of 1966, and his lifelong commitment to ethics and integrity in all pursuits, supports one or more deserving students enrolled at the Yale School of Management.

Claire Hughes Johnson ’01 MBA  Scholarship*
Established in 2021 by Claire Hughes Johnson ’01 MBA and Jesse Johnson to commemorate Ms. Johnson’s 20th Reunion, this scholarship is awarded at the Yale School of Management with a preference for students that have an interest in entrepreneurship and who are historically underrepresented in management education. Joseph C. McNay (BA 1956) Fellowship in Finance
Established in 1987 by Mr. Joseph C. McNay, Yale College Class of 1956, and Chairman, CIO, and Senior Portfolio Manager at Essex Investment Management Company, this scholarship is awarded to students in the field of finance.

Paolo Zannoni Scholarship
Established in 2009 by Paolo Zannoni (’87 MA/MPhil in Political Science), this scholarship is awarded to second-year students at the Yale School of Management with a preference given to those with an interest in the intersection between government and the economy. Students who have been awarded a merit-based scholarship as first-year students are eligible to receive the scholarship.

Established in 2007 by Mr. Edward J. De La Rosa ’81 MPPM and his wife, Ms. Elaine F. Tumonis ’80 BA, this scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the MBA program with a preference given to Hispanic students.

Janet “Ginger” Gelb (MPPM 1984) Scholarship
Established in 1992 to honor the memory of Ms. Gelb ’84 MPPM, this scholarship is awarded to students of particular promise in any area of study at the Yale School of Management.

Hechinger Scholarship
Established in 1983 by Mr. John W. Hechinger, Yale Class of 1941, this scholarship is awarded to students from the metro Washington, D.C., area, with a preference for underrepresented students in management education.

Established in 2018, this scholarship is awarded at the Yale School of Management with a preference for students from backgrounds underrepresented in management education, with a demonstrated interest in promoting diversity and inclusion in management education, and who work in the nonprofit sector.

Edwin Thorne (Class of 1935) Scholarship*
Established in 2020 by Katherine M. Gross ’83 MPPM and Peter A. Thorne ’77 BA, in memory of Edwin Thorne, Yale College Class of 1935, the scholarship has a preference for Yale SOM students from backgrounds underrepresented in management education, and who are using their education to help achieve positive social impact, be that through the private, public, or nonprofit sectors.

Yale-Reaching OUT LGBT MBA Fellowship
The Reaching OUT Fellowship is a competitive Fellowship awarded to a maximum of 2 students at participating MBA programs. Selected Fellows not only have demonstrated strong academic skills, but have also demonstrated the capacity to be a leader for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community. In addition to the financial support provided through Fellowships awarded by participating schools, Reaching OUT LGBT MBA Fellows have access to benefits that are designed to highlight them to Reaching OUT’s 80+ corporate partners, connect them to network of 10,000+ peers and alumni that extend beyond their campus, and allow them to develop as out LGBTQ and active ally leaders.

Rosalind Elsie Franklin MBA/MD Scholarship*
Established in 2019 by an anonymous couple of Yale graduates, this scholarship supports a joint degree student between the Yale School of Management and the Yale School of Medicine, with a preference for students from backgrounds underrepresented in life sciences leadership positions in industry or academia. The scholarship honors the pioneer molecular biologist, Rosalind Elsie Franklin, a major contributor to the discovery of the molecular structure of DNA, who remained largely unrecognized during her lifetime.

Kevin Ye MBA Scholarship*
Established in 2019 by Kevin Ye ’04 MBA to commemorate his 15th Reunion, this scholarship supports students at the Yale School of Management who are pursuing a joint degree with the Yale School of Public Health.

Pozen-Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Health Equity Leadership at Yale University*
The Pozen-Commonwealth Fund Fellowship is open to healthcare professionals and leaders who are committed to improving healthcare access and outcomes for marginalized, minoritized, and medically underserved populations. Preferred applicants should have at least seven years work experience, beyond any formal clinical training, and a demonstrated track record in healthcare equity.

Master of Management Studies (MMS) - Asset Management Scholarships

Swensen Scholars in Asset Management*
Established in 2022, this scholarship is named in memory of David Swensen ’80 PhD, recognizing an area at Yale that David was most passionate about and that reflects his values. The scholarship supports students at the Yale School of Management with a first preference for students enrolled in the Master of Management Studies (MMS) - Asset Management program, and a second preference for students in the MMS Asset Management program from backgrounds underrepresented in management education and/or the field of finance and with a demonstrated interest in promoting diversity and inclusion in these areas.

Established in 2021 by Arthur ’95 MPPM and Heloisa Mizne to commemorate Mr. Mizne’s 25th Reunion, this scholarship covers up to half tuition for deserving students enrolled at the Yale School of Management, with a preference for students who are citizens or permanent residents of Brazil.

Mexico

Martin Werner Fellowship
Established in 2011 by Mr. Martin Werner ’91 PhD, this scholarship is awarded to Master’s degree students at the Yale School of Management with a preference given to students from Mexico.

Yale SOM Scholarship for Students from Mexico*
Established by Yale School of Management alumni in Mexico, this scholarship is part of the school’s special Alumni Fund initiative that provides support to currently enrolled students from Mexico.

Conley Brooks ’44 BA Family Scholarship
Established in 2015 by Conley Brooks, Jr., Yale College Class of 1968, this scholarship is awarded to MBA students for each of the two years of study with a preference given to students from Minnesota.

Established in 1963 to honor the memories of Mr. Frederick T. Holliday, Yale College Class of 1920, and his son, Frederick T. Holliday, Jr., Yale College Class of 1945, the scholarship is awarded at the Yale School of Management to students from Indiana or bordering states.

G. Harold Welch Scholarship
Established in 1987 by Mr. G. Harold Welch, this scholarship is designed to bring Yale and the New Haven community together by providing support to an incoming student from the New Haven area.

Sim Family Foundation Scholarship*
Established in 2011 by Mr. H. Boon Sim ’92 MPPM, the scholarship is awarded to students from the Pacific Rim (including the Western United States, Canada, and South America) with non-traditional backgrounds, or to U.S. citizens living in the United States who have shown a history of outstanding scholastic achievement or public service.

Established by Raymond ’96 MBA and Tiffany Chang in 2020 to commemorate Mr. Chang’s 25th Reunion, this scholarship supports students enrolled at the Yale School of Management, with a preference for students who are citizens or permanent residents of Africa, and with a priority for citizens or permanent residents of Sub-Saharan African countries.

Yale-Africa Impact Scholarship
At least two scholarships are awarded annually based on merit to the candidates most likely to advance the Yale School of Management’s mission to educate leaders for business and society. The scholarships provide funding for at least half of the tuition for the full-time MBA program. Within two years of graduation from Yale, Impact Scholars are expected to return to Africa to work for at least two years in a professional role that contributes to the continent’s development. To be considered, prospective students from Africa must apply and be admitted to Yale SOM’s full-time MBA program. Once admitted, scholarship decisions will be decided based on the competitiveness of the applicants.

Laura Cha (Shi Mei Lun) Scholarship
Established in 2005 by Mrs. Laura Cha, Chairman of The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd., this scholarship supports promising MBA students from mainland China with financial need and provides full tuition support for each of the two years of Yale SOM’s MBA program.

Shirley Chen ’95 MBA Scholarship*
Established in 2020 by Ms. Shirley Chen ’95 MBA in honor of her 25th Reunion, this scholarship supports one or more deserving students enrolled at the Yale School of Management, with a preference for students who are citizens or residents of China.

Vincent Zhaoxu Chen ’22 MBA Family Scholarship*
Established in 2023 by Vincent Zhaoxu Chen ’22 MBA and Shirley Jing Che, this scholarship supports Master's Degree students at the Yale School of Management who are citizens or permanent residents of China.

Jane Sun and John Wu Scholarship
Established in 2016 by Ms. Jane Sun and Mr. John Wu at the Yale School of Management, this scholarship supports students from Greater China who are enrolled in the MBA program, with a preference given to those coming from rural areas.

YQ Scholarship*
Established in 2007 by Mr. Yongqiang Qian ’00 MBA, the scholarship provides half-tuition support to MBA students who demonstrate need and have graduated from a high school in mainland China.

Kevin Y. Zhang Scholarship
Established in 2009 by Mr. Kevin Zhang ’94 MBA, the scholarship is designed to increase the international diversity of the student body by offering scholarships for first-year students of exceptional merit from mainland China who demonstrate need.

India

Global Leaders from India MBA Scholarship Program  
This program provides up to five merit scholarships to students from India who are seeking to elevate their leadership abilities and are enrolled in the full-time MBA program. The scholarships will be awarded to the strongest candidates based on academic and professional accomplishments, as well as leadership potential. All citizens of India who apply to the Yale School of Management MBA program will be automatically considered for the scholarship.

Amman Mineral Scholarship*
Established in 2019 by Amman Mineral and Sudjiono “Ujin” Timan ’84, this scholarship supports SOM students from Indonesia.

Roberts W. Brokaw (YC ’72, GRD ’72) Free-Enterprise Scholarship
Established in 2004 by Mr. Roberts W. Brokaw, Yale College and Graduate School Class of 1972 in Economics, this scholarship supports recent college graduates of exceptional promise and creativity who, as MBA candidates, are selected for the Silver Scholars program at the Yale School of Management and who have plans to pursue studies related to the corporate sector.

Robert C. Busch (Class of 1954) Scholarship
Established in 2004 by Mr. Robert C. Busch, Yale College Class of 1954, in honor of his 50th Class Reunion, this scholarship supports recent college graduates of exceptional promise and creativity who, as MBA candidates, are selected for the Silver Scholars program at the Yale School of Management.

U.S. Military

Bank of America Scholarship
Established in 2012 by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, this merit-based scholarship is intended to recognize service to the United States, with a primary preference for honorably discharged U.S. veterans and a secondary preference for students who worked in the nonprofit sector in the United States prior to studying at the Yale School of Management.

Yale SOM Veterans Scholarship*
Established in 2022 as a bequest of Mr. Maurice Pinto, Yale College Class of 1955, this scholarship supports deserving MBA students at the Yale School of Management who are U.S. military veterans.
