Hannah Weisman

Lecturer in Management

Hannah Weisman is a Lecturer in Management at the Yale School of Management and Senior Researcher at the Harvard University Advanced Leadership Initiative. Previously, she was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Harvard Business School. She received her Ph.D. in Management from the London School of Economics.

Hannah’s research broadly examines “meaningful work,” with a focus on 1) the experience of work as a “calling” and 2) how people craft their jobs to have greater impact, purpose, and meaning. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Research in Organizational Behavior, and Journal of Management, and received awards such as Overall Best Paper and Best Student Paper from the Academy of Management Careers Division. She was a finalist in the INFORMS/Organization Science Dissertation Proposal Competition.

Hannah has taught classes on leadership and negotiation, and assisted with teaching on social business, competitive strategy and innovation, organizational behavior, and organizational theory. Her experience includes in-person and online formats, the United States and United Kingdom, and students at the undergraduate, master’s, and executive levels.

Hannah is an active member of her professional community. She served as Student Representative for the Academy of Management Organizational Behavior Division. Further, she regularly reviews for academic journals and received the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management Organizational Behavior Division. She is actively involved in the community of scholars who study the meaning of work.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Hannah graduated with Distinction from the M.Sc. Human Resources and Organizations program at LSE. She also worked in human capital, as an executive compensation consultant with the Semler Brossy Consulting Group.
