Reunion Giving

Reunions provide an occasion to gather in New Haven; reconnect with classmates; and reflect on your experiences together at Yale SOM.  Reunions are also a wonderful opportunity to give back to SOM and commemorate your time on campus with a special commitment.

Yale University established the tradition of Reunion Giving in 1877, and reunion gift campaigns, led entirely by alumni, provide critical support for scholarships, curricular innovations, and faculty research.  Yale SOM alumni are galvanized to strengthen the tradition of Reunion Giving at the school, and in doing so, set the cornerstone for Yale SOM’s fifth decade.

To honor a reunion, many alumni make a special gift that helps advance the school’s strategic priorities.  The deeper your investment, the greater your impact on current and future leaders for business and society.

The Reunion Campaign raises critical support for the Yale SOM Alumni Fund and other programs at the school.  New multi-year commitments, as well as contributions made during the five years leading up to your reunion, count toward your class’ reunion total.  In addition, with your consistent giving to the Yale SOM Alumni Fund for three or more years, you’ll be recognized as a member of SOM Loyal.

Reunion Gift Campaign Volunteers

Reunion Giving is a volunteer-driven, peer-to-peer approach to fundraising around reunions – the program truly does not exist without our alumni.  The role of Reunion Gift Committee member is high-impact and tremendously valuable to the school, and supported by dedicated staff at SOM to maximize the use of your time.  Each Reunion Gift Committee member chooses and reaches out to approximately five classmates to both reconnect and also to solicit for a special gift to mark their reunion.  The Reunion Gift Committee is typically led by two co-chairs who are nominated by Yale SOM’s Office of Development, and the co-chairs build their committee, generally of 10-15 classmates.  If you are interested in joining your Reunion Gift Committee or if you have any questions, please reach out to Julia Hsieh, Deputy Director of  Reunion Giving.
