Master’s in Asset Management Frequently Asked Questions
Why was I placed on the waitlist?
Candidates are waitlisted for different reasons, and a waitlist decision indicates that the Admissions Committee would like to consider your application further as the admissions cycle continues. A waitlist decision is simply the result of a competitive pool; we do not have enough spots in the class to admit all qualified applicants.
Can I submit additional materials? If so, to whom?
Yes, nothing is required, but we are happy to review additional GMAT/GRE scores; resumes with new jobs, promotions, responsibilities, or volunteer experiences; transcripts showing completed coursework; and other material updates to your application. Please provide updates here or have letters of support sent to assetmgmt.admissions@yale.edu directly.
Can I receive individualized feedback on my application?
Yes. We do offer personal feedback for waitlisted candidates. Please accept your place on the waitlist and then email assetmgmt.admissions@yale.edu with the subject "Waitlist Feedback - Applicant Name, Application ID Reference Number" and a member of the Admissions Committee will respond with an assessment of your candidacy.
Can I meet or talk on the phone with a member of the Admissions Committee?
Unfortunately, Admissions Committee members are not available to speak on the phone. If there are material updates to your application, they can be submitted on your status page. If you would like personal feedback regarding your application, please accept your place on the waitlist and then email assetmgmt.admissions@yale.edu with the subject "Waitlist Feedback - Applicant Name, Application ID Reference Number" and a member of the Admissions Committee will respond with an assessment of your candidacy.
What are my chances of being accepted off the waitlist?
We monitor our enrollment throughout the admission season, and make additional offers as space becomes available. Waitlist movement varies from year to year, so it is difficult to make predictions as to how many candidates we will admit from the waitlist in a given year. However, we look favorably upon waitlisted candidates and appreciate your patience and continued engagement with our office.
When will the Committee review the waitlist?
The Committee reviews the waitlist on an ongoing basis.
I haven’t been interviewed yet. Is that unusual?
Since we have limited interview appointments, it is not uncommon to be placed on the waitlist before being interviewed. In these cases, the Committee will continue to consider you for an invitation to interview.
When will I receive an update to my status?
Waitlist candidates may receive an update to their status at any time.
