Edward P. Evans Hall
Edward P. Evans Hall
Evans Hall is where perspectives meet and Yale SOM’s mission comes to life every day. Designed around the sunny Shen Courtyard, the campus brings together classrooms, academic centers, and student spaces in one connected environment.
Classrooms
One of the Yale MBA’s most distinctive features is its integrated core curriculum in the first year, followed by the flexibility to take electives across Yale in the second year. In Evans Hall, classrooms are designed to match that experience—from auditoriums that accommodate your 80-person cohort to smaller, discussion-driven spaces for electives.
Shen Courtyard
At the center of Evans Hall is the enclosed Shen Courtyard, which is the heart of the school. Many school-wide events are held on the lawn, including a welcome barbecue at Orientation and the diploma ceremony at Commencement.
Zhang Auditorium
Zhang is home to some of Yale’s biggest events. The largest venue in Evans Hall, this auditorium hosts global CEOs, Nobel Prize winners, NGO presidents, and top government leaders from all across the world.
Dining: Charley's Place & McNay Cafe
You don’t have to leave Evans Hall to eat well. Charley’s Place offers fresh, affordable lunches during the week, while McNay Café is there for coffee, snacks, and a quick break between classes.
Honest Tea Suite: Entrepreneurship
SOM’s Program on Entrepreneurship is housed in the Honest Tea Entrepreneurship Suite. Known by students as ‘the bunker,’ the suite is a space to build, collaborate, and connect. Whether you’re starting a venture now, exploring ideas for later, or simply thinking more entrepreneurially, you’ll find support here.
Yale University
Yale University
As a student at Yale SOM, you have access to all of Yale. You are encouraged to leverage the resources and enjoy all the university has to offer academically, culturally, and socially.
Sterling Library
Yale’s libraries offer plenty of reasons to get out of Evans Hall. From Sterling and Bass to the Law Library, SOM students can find their favorite study spot surrounded by distinctly Yale architecture and history.
Payne Whitney Gym
MBA life requires a little balance. At Payne Whitney Gym, SOM students can work out, take a class, join an intramural team, or simply make time to recharge.
Yale Museums
From dinosaurs to modern art to rare books and manuscripts, Yale’s museums and collections offer plenty to explore between classes—or whenever you need a change of scene.
Schwarzman Center
The Schwarzman Center is a campus-wide hub for grabbing a meal, catching an event, studying, or connecting with friends from across Yale.
New Haven
New Haven
New Haven is the perfect backdrop for your MBA experience. A walkable city shaped by Yale and its surrounding neighborhoods, it offers plenty to explore beyond the classroom. And when you want to explore farther, New York City and Boston are both about two hours away by train.
Downtown
Downtown New Haven is where students head for dinner, drinks, concerts and live shows, and—of course—pizza. And it’s all just a quick walk from Evans Hall.
The Shops at Yale
Around campus, familiar favorites like Sweetgreen, Lululemon, and the Apple Store mix with local New Haven businesses and plenty of places to stock up on Yale gear.
East Rock
For many SOM students, East Rock is home. The neighborhood is a favorite for its easy access to Evans Hall, outdoor cafés, and parks. There’s a good chance your SOM friends live just around the corner.
