Edward P. Evans HallPlease join The Dean's Office and The Broad Center in welcoming Dr. Dan Goldhaber of the University of Washington for a seminar discussing talent policies and practices that impact a critical workforce: K-12 public education teachers.
Effective teachers have a significant impact on student outcomes, both in the short and long term. Thus, it’s essential that we understand how policies and practices can influence the quality of the teacher workforce. In this seminar, Dan Goldhaber will describe what we’ve learned about opportunities and impediments throughout the teacher pipeline and highlight talent practices that can be applied in K-12 education and across other sectors.
Dr. Dan Goldhaber is the Director of the Center for Analysis of Longitudinal Data in Education Research (CALDER) at the American Institutes for Research and the Director of the Center for Education Data & Research at the University of Washington. Dan’s work focuses on issues of educational productivity and reform at the K-12 level, the broad array of human capital policies that influence the composition, distribution, and quality of teachers in the workforce, and connections between students' K-12 experiences and postsecondary outcomes.
Registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
The Broad Seminar Series welcomes leading voices dedicated to generating knowledge about public education and effective school systems.
