Yale Economic Development Symposium

The virtual 2022 Economic Development Symposium will explore potential financing innovations across different sectors of the economy to advance sustainable economic development and reduce inequalities.

The Symposium will analyze the existing financing gaps and the innovations needed to direct capital to the programs, institutions, and communities who have been, and remain, excluded from access to capital. Panelists with different geographic and sectoral expertise will assess the different roles for public, private, philanthropic, and blended finance for driving resources toward underserved communities, such as emerging markets, rural areas, inner cities, and other underrepresented groups.

Panelists and speakers will include experts on innovations in finance for the environment, energy, healthcare, housing and infrastructure, and newer actors in the financial system such as impact investors and financial technology companies.

The Economic Development Symposium is an annual student-run conference at the Yale School of Management that brings together senior thought leaders, practitioners, and investors from academia, government, NGOs, and the private sector to discuss the latest issues in economic development.
